PC Gamer held firm Most Wanted 2024 showcase on Thursday and promote the list of the 25 most anticipated upcoming games according to the board of developers, media and other tastemakers. Amid the hype, we also got a bunch of updates on games coming out in the coming months, and reveals of some really cool stuff we didn’t even know was in development.

Among the new release dates we got were the following:

But the showcase also included announcements of all-new games, including an ambitious new set of open-world survival projects from the designer behind PUBG. Here are some highlights:

Moonlighter 2

Digital Sun’s roguelite dungeon crawler is back with a sequel that looks even more beautiful and expansive than the original 2018 game. Moonlighter 2: The Endless Vault, coming in 2025, will have players raiding vaults in search of treasures that can be sold to raise money for the revitalization of the village of Tresna. The sequel comes after the Between Dimensions DLC for the first game and alongside the full release of the equally awesome Strategy side project Cataclismo.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Tactical Takedown

Strange Scaffold, the team behind El Paso, Elsewhere and I Am Your Beast, is taking a stab at TNMT with a strategy spin-off. Splinter and Shredder are dead in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Tactical Takedown, and the titular heroes are grumpy adults. It sounds like a bummer, except for the interesting turn-based take on beat ’em up combat. There will be 20 levels that mutate in real time.

Prologue: Go back!

Brendan Greene’s PlayerUnknown Productions is working on something that sounds hugely ambitious. There’s a new game engine called Melba, a three-game roadmap, and a planet-sized community technology demo. It all starts with Prologue: Go Wayback!, an Early Access release scheduled for next year that drops the player into a massive, randomly generated open world where they have only one goal: survive from one end to the other.

It sounds surprisingly cool, like a rogue-like survival walking simulator in a hyper-realistic world full of dramatic weather conditions and other forces of nature to overcome. Foreword: Undiscovered worldmeanwhile, a tech demo dropped today on Steam’s shadow will let players experiment with the tools Greene’s team uses on a map the size of a real planet.
